Healthier Pork Sandwiches

by - 1:33 AM

Usually these babies are fried but thanks to IowaGirlEats, there's a way to make them healthier. You really can't even tell the difference! They're super crunchy because of the panko bread crumbs, less fatty because they're baked, and the use of egg whites instead of whole eggs shaves off even more fattiness!

Here's the Step by Step! First, place the chops in a ziploc and pound em out.

Add a little seasoning to each side.

Next step: Dip them in egg whites.

Last dip: Panko Bread Crumbs!

Bake for 10 minutes or until fully cooked and golden brown. We served our sandwiches with cheese, ketchup, and pickles. We also baked some Sweet Potato fries as a side dish!

Ingredients
  • Boneless pork chops (about 6)
  • Lawry's seasoning salt
  • 2 egg whites, whisked
  • panko bread crumbs
  • non-stick spray
  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  2. Pound each pork chop out until 1/4" thick. Season both sides with seasoning salt. (Feel free to cut the fatty meat off of the pork chop).
  3. Setup 2 shallow dishes for breading. Pour the egg white in one and pour panko bread crumbs in the other.
  4. Dip each chop in the egg white, then into the bread crumbs. Place on a non-stick sprayed, foil covered baking sheet. Spray the tops with more non-stick spray.
  5. Bake for 10 minutes, or until the chops are golden brown and cooked all the way through.
Happy Eating!
